Once Midomi finds the track you’re looking for, you can either listen to the song or buy it from iTunes or watch its video on YouTube if it’s available. It works. I have tried it myself.

23. Change Your iPhone to an Universal Remote through Remote

This application turns the iPhone into a wireless remote for iTunes on your PC and for the Apple TV. The only setup required is connecting your phone to a Wi-Fi network and plugging a wireless connection PIN into your computer’s iTunes application. If you have a large collection of content, you’ll appreciate the ability to search for tracks, TV shows, movies, and more right from the Remote app.

Reportedly it works from 30 feet distance too.
