Airtel Bringing iPhone 4

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bharti Airtel which is the leading telecom service provider of India is all set to introduce the latest Smartphone from the stable of Apple Inc, iPhone 4. It was one of the few providers for iPhone 3G in India nod followed it up with iPhone 3GS. Sanjay Kapoor the CEO of the company has confirmed the news. The Company is still in talks with Apple about the details and a tentative release date in India will be announced soon. However Airtel has already said that the smart phone will be launched during Diwali which is a big festival in India.

Airtel now sells iPhone 3GS in India. It is not clear whether that version will be withdrawn from the market or not. It may also opt to retain the previous model after a price slash. The Indian customers are very cost conscious and the iPhone has not exactly become the largest selling phone in India after its debut two years back. In fact Indian customers can avail more feature laden phone that come at half its price. However for the gadget lovers with deep pockets the launch of iPhone 4 will be a dream coming true. The phone has a number of cutting edge features and looks uber cool.

Airtel is likely to price the iPhone 4 near about INR 40000 or more. The iPhone 3GS is priced INR 35,500. Like iPhone 3GS the new version of iPhone may also be launched locked. With 3G service going to be launched shortly in India Airtel has chosen the timing rightly for launching the new iPhone.
