Apple has successfully marketed more iPads than Macs for the first time, and more iPhonesway more than iPods. Interestingly, out of this they have made more than $20 billion.
ARTICLE CONTINUED BELOWWell, the man himself, Steve Jobs, had a lot to speak about all this.
Reportedly, the 4.19 million iPads Apple sold in the third quarter is a huge number which has undoubtedly surpassed record Mac sales of 3.9 million up 27% over last year. Even huger: 14.1 million iPhones in those three months alone. That happens to be nearly double what they sold in the fourth quarter of 2009. $20 billion revenue was the record for the company, along with the staggering $4.3 billion profit.
As a matter of fact, if these are the numbers before the holiday season, I can’t wait to hear what kind of guidance they’re about to give.
Updates from the earning calls started at 5 EST:
Apple managed to sale as many iPhones as they could make, meaning that 14.1 million number isn’t even as high as it could have been.
If the figures are placed right then there have been over 125 million iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches) sold. iOS 4.2 is still on track for November, with wireless printing being a focal point.
The count has rised all the way up and over 35,000 for iPad apps available alone in the App Store. The show also encountered a surprise visit from Steve Jobs! Well apparently he is basically taking the opportunity to go after the competition.
