We all are eager to see the day when we will have a steady and comprehensive alternative to petrol. And if there is no emission, there is no pollution too. That is why I have always been positive and optimistic about electric and solar powered cars. And I gladdened up infinitely when a company like BMW decided to launch a fleet of ships err electric cars to test their technology. Dubbed the Mini E, the car will run on a 150kW motor juiced by an automotive lithium-ion battery that will give it a range of 150 miles. It offers 204hp of electric motor, can hit 62 mph in 8.5 seconds.

BMW spokesmen said,

What distinguishes the zero-emissions MINI is a specially designed logo in Interchange Yellow, depicting a stylized power plug in the shape of an “E” set against the silver backdrop. It has been applied to the roof, in smaller dimensions to the front and back, to the charger port lid, the dashboard trim, and – combined with the MINI logo – to the door jamb, in slightly modified form. The color of the roof edges, mirror housings, interior style cues and seat seams will match the logo’s yellow tone as well.

500 cars are to be test driven and handed over to corporate and confidential customers for now. If you are one of them, we will request you to throw some light on that asap. Or even if you aren’t one of them, there is no harm in wishing them good luck.
