Ooma Telo which, apart from serving as an internet based telephone promising free calls within the US as well as internationally to other Ooma users, can also serve as a standard landline telephone. And it is a handsfree set. The call rates otherwise are very cheap too. You can call anywhere across the globe for 10 cents.

Obviously you will need a broadband to put Ooma calls into effect. It has some other features too like support for caller ID, ringtones and a contact manager to manage your contacts like a virtual phonebook.

The Ooma Telo is set to retail as a wireless handset and router combo for around $250 though, at the time of writing, no exact details concerning shipping dates have been announced.
