Correction: Toyota marketing story

NEW YORK — In a story March 8 about Toyota’s new ad campaign, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Toyota didn’t respond to requests for comment. The company did provide information about the ad campaign, which was included in the story. The story omitted Toyota’s explanation for the campaign: citing Toyota customers “who are still confident in the safety, reliability and quality of the brand,” and noting the 86,000 Toyota buyers in February.
