Well, cars are nothing new. Almost any one can buy a car these days. Private jets are nothing new too. Almost no one can buy them. So what if you are offered a two-in-one vehicle (Sound like a tape recorder? lol, believe me. Its definitely better) that can fly in the air and cruise on the road too?

Darpa has developed Personal Air Vehicle Technology, or PAVT which is a hybrid of helicopter and car (functionally). It looks very elegant and its really beautiful to see it take off.

The vehicle is designed to have a velocity of 60MPH on land and 150MPH in the air,

Though it is a very cool concept still, I would always prefer a non-fuel energy consuming technology for automobiles to these special advancements. Can anyone replace petrol/ diesel?
