You own an i-pod or a Sansa. But the problem is to find a time to charge it in the morning. Of course your mobile phone has a greater priority and then there may not be enough time to charge your cool music player. But does that mean, you can never listen to what you like just because you didn’t have enough time to juice it up? Yes and No. Yes because unfortunately that is the condition for most of us. No because A Japanese company (who else?) says it has found a way to charge portable gadgets just by walking!

Telecoms giant NTT is developing shoes that generate electricity as you walk. All you need is water, generator, a turbine and your shoe! Don’t get scared. All of that is already in-built in that shoe I am discussing. The futuristic shoes currently generate 1.2 watts of electricity,

a level sufficient to run an i-Pod mobile music player forever, as long as the wearer keeps walking. The company is trying to improve the power-generating capacity to 3 watts, which is the amount of electricity to power a mobile phone,

said spokesman Hideomi Tenma.

Though it doesn’t have a power storage facility for now, but let’s be serious. With improvements and sophistication, this can be really handy! At least I see a promise somewhere.

Meanwhile, if you step on a cool dude’s shoes and he screams, ” S**t man, you broke my turbine into pieces”, Don’t laugh. LOL.
