Garmin Nuvi Recall Creates Sensation

SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- Garmin known as one of the most popular GPS device manufacturers is recalling almost 1.25 devices and the news has created sensation. The Garmin Nuvi devices are being recalled owing to an overheating problem. The recall is a recent one and it has made the owners of the devices worried. 800000 among the recalled devices were sold in the USA itself as it has been reported. The battery in the sets is the culprit and it is causing the device to get overheated. The devices can be damaged if the users continue t use them with the defective batteries inside. The company has specified that the models with code number 7xxT, 260w, 250W and 200W are being recalled. The other models manufactured by Garmin are not covered by this recall.

The company has said in its statement that the owners of Garmin Nuvi models with the aforesaid model numbers can contact the company. The company will readily replace the battery and offer a new piece. The customers would not have to pay anything for getting the replacement. Garmin Nuvi devices that are being recalled were fitted with batteries that were supplied by some third party manufacturer. The company has asked the owners not to remove the batteries from their devices on their own.

The Garmin Nuvi recall is the latest in gadgets that are being recalled this year. Earlier many other gadgets and cars were also recalled. However the good thing about this recall is that the devices do not have any technical glitch as such. After removing the batteries they will function as expected.
