honda-insight-hybridThe 2010 Honda Hybrid features an Integrated Motor Assist System with an efficient 1.3 liter four cylinder gasoline engine of 88 horsepower delivering 88 pound-feet of torque and a electric motor that produces another 13 horsepower and 58 pound feet of torque. It also features a Continuously Variable Transmission so that you don’t need to worry about changing the gears. The braking system utilizes the cars momentum and the motor technically acts as a generator to charge the battery while you apply the brakes which is technically known as regenerative braking. The car is advertised to produce 43 mpg highway and 40 mpg city mileage making an average of 41 mpg. Do you to know the actual mileage?

The car delivers 50 mpg if you use the car with slow acceleration and coast during the stops. This is more than what is advertised. The acceleration of the car from 0-60 is 10.7 seconds which is I think enough for the consumers who are looking for a car with better mileage.

The electric motor runs off a 108 V nickel metal hydride cells and is able to drive the automobile at 30 mph with the engine completely off. That speed would be enough for the cities.

The inside of the car is spacious and comfortable. The sitting arrangement is a little bit lower which provides more legroom in the front. The engine noise is little bit more if you compare it with the modern cars. However, it was not intolerable by any means.
