How to make a high-end budget PC within Rs. 15,000 (tested with Windows 7)
Who doesn’t want a high end PC that fits in to his budget too? As Windows 7 is going to be released on Oct 22, I am facing some questions that are almost hypothetical, like, how can we recommend a high end PC that will support Windows 7 and upcoming software requirements? To answer all your queries, we have assembled one and tested it with a Windows 7 RTM. But there is more to it.We have made it under Rs. 15,000 (about $300)! So here is the configuration for those who are looking to upgrade their desktops without filing a chapter 11 for your personal economy.
1. Monitor : Samsung 19 inch TFT
CRT Monitors are seriously outdated. But we were considering a CRT monitor to make a budget PC but when we heard that a 10 inch Samsung LCD Monitor is available at Rs. 5400, we pounced on them. It displayed HD movies nice and smoothly.

2. Processor : Intel Dual Core
We have chosen Intel Dual Core E5200 CPU. It is the first 45nm CPU with 2MB L2 cache. It has 2.5 GHz clock speed and 800 MHz Front Side Bus. We purchased it for Rs. 2600. In that same price we could get a AMD Athlon Dual Core X2 5200 Processor with 2.7 GHz speed but personally I am an Intel fan, so I went for Intel Dual Core though some say that the other Processor has better performance.

3. Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L
This motherboard is based on Intel’s G31 chipset and offers compatibility with all current generation of Intel Processors like 45nm or 65nm. It supports RAM expansions upto 4GB and also supports 1066 MHz RAM. We purchased it at Rs. 2030.

4. RAM : 1GB
We would love a 2GB RAM but the prices of the previous three items prohibited us to get a 2 GB RAM that cost Rs. 1400. Instead we managed with a 1GB DDR II RAM costing Rs. 720. You could buy another 1 GB RAM at a later time when your budget permits you to do so. to boost up the performance.

5. HDD : 160 GB
If you aren’t a movie buff 160 GB would be sufficient for you. We bought a Seagate SATA II HDD for Rs. 1700.

6. DVD RW
We purchased an LG SATA DVD Writer for Rs. 1010. You can purchase one from any reputed brand such as Sony or Samsung.

7. Cabinet/SMPS
We purchased a Frontech cabinet and PSU for RS. 1020. You can get any local brand at the same price but check that the power supply is at least 450 Watts to manage any power hungry CPU.

8. Keyboard / Mouse
We purchased a standard Logitech keyboard and optical mouse for Rs. 510.

Conclusion
All these items listed above summed up to Rs. 14990 purchased from Kolkata at the best prices we could avail. We assembled it in our office and tested it with Windows 7 and it ran smoothly with much resources to spare for other softwares to run. Good article.
Everything about it is fine. But you forgot to add the price of Windows 7.
If you do that, I bet the Rs 15,000 will easily become Rs 25,000.
