hp-miniHP has a number of ultra portable and netbooks in the market and the Mini 110 is a popular model. Recently the company has released a revamped version of the laptop with a cool design meant for attracting the women users. The Mini 110-113dx Tord Boontje Edition has an exterior design done by Tord Boontje, a renowned Dutch designer. However, the design may not justify the $50 price hike for most of the buyers except those who love flaunting their gadgets.

Beneath the gorgeous design the netbook has standard components found in other competing models. It is powered by a power efficient Intel Atom CPU and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. While this model has Windows 7 starter edition the graphics chip is not suitable for HD playback. HP’s own Mini 311 offers powerful Nvidia Ion graphics and HD screen at an identical price.

The netbook has excellent quality keyboard though its touchpad could do with a little improvement. The Atom CPU, as expected, can handle office productivity applications and web browsing but gaming is not its forte. Intel is going to release the upcoming lineup of Atom CPUs in the next year and the laptop manufacturers will offer the models fitted with those next generation CPUs soon. Even the present generation dual-core Atom CPUs offer marginally better performance than the N270, which is a single core model.

The netbook uses a three cell battery which results in an average battery life that lasts up to three hours. This is strange considering a number of present generation netbooks offer battery life above 5 hours.
