HTC Evo Shift 4G Announced Officially

SAN FRANCISCO ( Kansas based US telecommunication service company Sprint Nextel has officially announced the launch and availability of the new smart phone HTC Evo Shift 4G. It is going to be made available for sales in a week as the reports have come. Most likely it is going to be showcased at the much awaited CES 2011 which starts tomorrow. However, it is not the first smart phone from Sprint’s stable. The 4G network has been launched in USA but its coverage is not as strong as that of 3G yet. The users will be able to access high speed Internet using Sprint’s 4G network using this model. The new HTC Evo Shift 4G may look similar to the Evo Shift, but it has got several new features. The camera of the phone has a resolution of 5 MP and it is capable of shooting HD video footage. It also comes loaded with a slider QWERTY keypad and a capacitive 3.6 inch Touch screen. The phone can double up as a WiFi hot spot and provide web access to 8 devices at a time.


HTC has equipped the Evo Shift 4G with Froyo 2.2. version of Android OS. The users will be able to purchase the model for $149.99 for a 2 year deal. Dan Hesse who is the CEO of Sprint has said that this model is among the upcoming latest 4G enabled handsets that Sprint will offer its users this year. HTC Sense is also loaded in the phone on top of the OS.

Beneath the HTC Evo Shift 4G lies the 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7630 CPU. The device is also loaded with all wireless connectivity features.
