Kolkata ( – HTC is a very well known and trusted manufacturer in the world but in India, they don’t seem to do that much and common people haven’t even heard of the HTC brand. But HTC has now understood that India is potentially a very big market to sell their smartphones. This is why they are targeting to promote their affordable smartphones for the Indian Market.

The Taiwan based manufacturer will market HTC Smart in India which was called previously called the TouchB. The price of the phone will be around Rs. 10,000 (About $200) in India. It will have the basic features such as a 2.8 inch QVGA resolution touchscreen display along with GSM and 3G HSDPA connectivity. There will be a 3MP camera with flash capability. It will have a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack in its body which means you can connect any of your favorite headphones with this device. Besides, it will have a Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP so that you can also connect a Bluetooth wireless headphone with the device.

The smoothness and speed of HTC devices are also unquestionable. It will have a 256 MB ROM, 256 MB RAM and a 300 MHz Processor. There will be Micro SD card slot to accommodate for more memory requirements. However, there won’t be two important features namely, GPS and WiFi. But if the phone had these facilities, the price would have soared much higher than the price tag it now has.

In the Rs. 10,000 price range, there are many other strong competitors the HTC Smart will facing. The strongest of them would be LG Cookie and Samsung Star, Corby.
