iphoneApple has released a Software Update 3.0.1 that fixes the SMS Vulnerability of the Phone. The previous version allowed malicious parties to send harmless looking text messages that can gain access to  iPhone’s various functions like camera or contacts without notifying the user. After the SMS vulnerability was revealed on Thursday, people at Apple was really prompt at their action to fix the vulnerability and release the software update.

Apple admitted that the flaw was in the Core Telephony Framework that led to a memory corruption issue in the decoding of SMS messages. They also credits Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner who disclosed those flaws at the Black Hat Security Conference just two days ago.
