iphone-wild-chargeThe latest Buzz in mobile phone technology is  wireless charging. This provides hassle free charging options as it does not need the phone to be connected directly to the charger via the charging port. Palm Pre has already shown that by its Touchstone charger. So the spring err iPhone couldn’t be far behind.

WildCharge is making a gel skin that looks like any other good looking case for your iPhone or iPod touch. The skin has a small connector plugs into the iPhone. After being connected you can place the phone on any Wild Charge charger pad to start charging. The cost of the skin and charger pad combines to a total of $80 whereas the add-on for Pre is priced at $70.

The wireless induction charging is slower than the conventional charging, so if you ask whether I would buy one for my iPhone when it becomes available this July, I’ll answer a big no. Also I can’t find where is the convenience factor if I have to connect the charger pad to the outlet, then put the phone in a specific place to charge it. I can’t also justify the premium price. Will you buy it?
