toshibaToshiba, World’s fifth largest personal computer manufacturer is awarded 2 points out of 100 points by Greenpeace for their contribution to green house gas emission. The list is topped by IBM. But can’t we expect a little more sensibility and more importantly responsibility from the likes of Toshiba, esp when its as important an issue like environmental degradation.

The topper IBM scored a meagre 29 points out of 100 but far better than Toshiba at least!
According to Greenpeace, they have no target to reduce the emission caused by them or they do not try to plan to use solar energy to offset it’s own emission. They are only concerned about energy efficiency but does not have any solution to reduce emission. The CEO Atsutoshi Nishida scored only 2 points on Public Climate Speech and Renewable Energy Use.

By focussing on nuclear reactors Toshiba is blocking real solutions to climate change, such as renewable energy and energy efficiency. Until they cease this area of their business, and focus on developing actual solutions, they cannot hope to be considered Climate Leaders.
