SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA (GaeaTimes.com)- LG Electronics, the Korea based electronic giant has improved its position in the mobile phone market in the last few years. It is now focusing strongly on the smart phone segment which used to be the forte of companies like RIM and Apple until a years back. To counter the competition from rivals like Samsung and Nokia, LG has released a plethora of new smart phones in the market in recent times though some of them are meant for specific countries. LG has unveiled a new smart phone that is reportedly far more powerful and has features richer than Apple iPhone. The initial images of the much touted LG LU3000 from LG Electronics was revealed at the KES2010 electronics expo. In the test, the handset conveniently beat contenders like Samsung Galaxy and the iPhone 4 and the experts gave it rave reviews. It excels in web search and speed of multitasking compared to the other phones. The company has not divulged the detailed tech specification for the phone but it is said to be powered by a 1GHz OMAP 3630 CPU. The high end smart phones mostly run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz CPU. It has a 5 MP camera with Autofocus which will be a boon for photography enthusiasts.
The screen of the LG LU3000 is 3.8 inches across but it runs the now dated Android 2.2 Froyo and not the latest version. However, LG Electronics may update the OS later. As of now, the company will sell the handset only in South Korea.
