Huge success of GF1 has paved the way for its successor GF2. Panasonic announces a lighter, smaller, yet more powerful camera GF2.

Claimed as the “world’s smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens system camera, GF2 comes with array of features. The size of the GF2 has been reduced by 19%, and the weight by approx. 7% as compared to GF1.

As I told earlier, GF2 covers loads of new features. even it packs more features than GF1. It includes a touch-screen for touch controls such as Touch AF, Touch Shutter, Touch peripheral de-focusing control, a Touch Quick Menu and My Color mode.

While you can record only 720p video to AVCHD Lite with GF1, GF2 will allow you record full 1080i HD video to AVCHD, that with focus control.

Some enticing features include a Venus Engine FHD with faster performance and 3 CPUs, an Intelligent D-Range Control to optimize the dynamic range in an image. The D-Range Control will help in capturing both light and dark area using Intelligent Resolution Technology and balanced sharpness.

GF2 will be available in five colors: red, pink, white, silver and black. The release date of GF2 is yet to be revealed.
