Microsoft Plans to Integrate Kinect and Windows PC in Future

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has revealed that Microsoft is planning to add Kinect support to Windows. They expect that the motion controller will gain some degree of integration with the PC platform “in a formal way in the right time.”

Last year, Bill Gates had hinted that both the Xbox and Windows teams had “latched onto” the motion-tracking camera system. He also mentioned that each team planned to develop applications that could range from gaming through controlling an HTPC, to increasing interaction in meetings. Although Ballmer has not yet divulged any implementation of his own, but it seems that gaming will be the obvious starting point.
