San Francisco (GaeaTimes.com) – North American Unit of Nissan Motor Company said today that they will recall 539,864 vehicles which are reported to have brake pin and fuel gauge problems. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries but they have three reported instances of brake pedal pins which are partially disengaging thereby causing a loss of normal braking ability. The fuel gauge suffers from a problem when the vehicle runs at a higher mileage level. The car can run out of gas even when the gauge shows non empty fuel tank. A manufacturing error from the supplier part is blamed for the case.
Titan, Armada and Infiniti QX56 built from 2005 to 2008 may have faulty brake pedal components that can cause the pedals to wobble. The Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra manufactured from January and March 2006 and October 2007 to January 2008 are also a part of this recall.

Meanwhile General Motors is recalling 1.3 million Chevrolet and Pontiac vehicles in North America for problems in its power systems after federal regulators received more than 1,100 consumer complaints about failures. The recall from GM will include 2005-10 Cobalt, 2007-10 Pontiac G5, 2005-06 Pontiac Pursuit and some other vehicles are also a part of this recall.
Toyota Motor Corp is already running a global recall of more than 8 million vehicles for issues regarding unintended acceleration. There have been lawsuits and congressional hearings.
The cases are now triggering a review of the safety agency by U.S. Transportation Department Inspector General. They will examine the way government investigators monitor automobile defects.
