NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Touchscreen mania that was kick started by the advent of the Apple iPhone has been transmitted to other mobile handset manufacturers as well. Nokia which used to be the default choice for mobile users till a few years back is going through tough times. Apart from Apple Koran, Chinese rivals are giving the Finnish cellular giant a run for its money. However, Nokia aims to fight back with a range of revamped handsets that feature Touchscreen technology. Its 5800 Expressmusic was a success but its price kept it out for the masses. Nokia has launched the 5233 in India which brings Touchscreen features within the reach of the masses. The price of the phone has been kept at 7500.

The Nokia 5233 features are adequate for average cell phone users of India and its price is reasonable. The phone is not lightning fast but the 434 MHz ARM CPU still offers decent speed and smooth multitasking. The 3.2 inch screen is vivid and can be seen even in bright daylight. Apart from that it offers standard features like Bluetooth, 2 MP camera and GPRS/EDGE. For storing the media files it offers 16 GB external memory. FM radio is also included with this handset.

As of now, the Nokia 5233 is available in black and silver colors. The phone seems to right for the Indian users but the lack of 3G and WiFi may prove to a bottleneck for mass adoption. The features are aplenty but in imaging it offers mediocre performance thanks to its 2MP camera and lack of advanced controls.
