samsung_nx_series_1People are now getting bored of the point-and-shoot compact digital cameras and they want to move to DSLRs. But the problem with the DSLRs are still their size and weight. Samsung following this trend, has come up with a camera that has a big APS-C Sized sensor for DSLR like picture quality in a compact camera form factor. But how they did it?

The NX Series uses an electronic viewfinder instead of the conventional mirror box setup of a DSLR Camera. So, the distance between the image sensor and the lens is reduced by 60%, thereby fitting the big sensor in a compact body. This larger sensors can gather more light to produce higher quality images and found only in the DSLRs. Samsung predicts that this type of hybrid cameras will cover over 20% of the global digital still camera market by 2012. They are expecting that this horse will win the race for them to dominate the digital camera market.
