CES is the hottest news of these days. Sigma Designs has joined the long queue of manufacturers, who already introduced their products at the Pre-CES event. Sigma Designs has come up with a new processor SMP8910.
As revealed by the company, this is the first chip to integrate VXP studio quality video processing and the extremely flexible 3D video processor into a high-performance media processor. The chip’s unique design allows for HD multi-format video decoding, 3D graphics rendering, content protection and security management and multi-format audio encoding and decoding with task optimized performance.
The SMP8910 also has two new VXP features: de-ghosting and adaptive de-banding, and is said to be excellent at handling internet streamed content.
