Its good to excel in almost all the divisions of nano technologies and etc. But, almost. Look at this Hanvon N510 ebook reader. It has a 5 inch screen and China proudly declares that. I say, what the hell. I am not gonna buy it for reading a transcript or read-this-if-you-can contests. e-book readers’ success lies more on the front of being an alternative to books in a gadget-ic way. Not to look like a mini touchscreen calculator with letters in place of numbers.

Features

  • N510, uses the E Ink Vizplex display and Hanvon’s own pen-input technology.
  • The N510 is 11mm thick, in part because it has no backlighting

  • A mini USB port is used for data transfers; though there is no wireless connectivity yet.
  • The active digitizer means readers can add handwritten notes and diagrams to documents, and there’s apparently a painting app in there too.

Priced at around 2000RMB ($295); it does not yet appear to be available outside of China (WTH?!)
