metal_gear_solidRating games is always a subjective matter and a favorite game of mine might be the worst game for you and this is especially tough when there are about 5,000 games available for iPhone in Apple’s App Store. But I have tried to put together some games that are my favorites. The rest is on you. Have a look at the list and tell us if you like the list or not.

1. Fieldrunners

fieldrunners
It is classified as a “tower defense” game which means that you have to stop the bad guys from crossing the field and getting to your headquarters. You can construct a maze of goo towers, missiles, Gatling guns and lightning to fry them before they reach your base. Your enemies become more and more tougher as the levels increase. This means you have to be more and more cunning in your maze design.

2. Lux Touch

lux_touch
This is a casual, Risk-like game that is thoroughly addictive. The game is about taking over territory and building your armies in a short span of time. When your turn comes, you can attack neighboring territories, place more armies on the map and shuffle their positions around. But it takes a careful balance of offense and defense to secure more land without leaving yourself vulnerable

3. Asphalt4 Elite Racing

asphalt
The racing simulation of this game is excellent most probably this is the best of its kind I have seen so far. The game is very tough and I could not achieve the first position in any game till now. Can you do it?

4. Galcon

galcon
In this game you and your opponent start out with a planet, and quickly start dragging your ships to nearby planets to take them over. The number on each planet is the number of your ships it’ll take to conquer it. The game is very fast and it takes only a minute or two to complete it and you have to quickly decide which one to go for and do it fast. Each time you take over a planet, it starts generating more ships depending on how large it is. So the optimal strategy is to drag your ships to large planets with small numbers.

5. Enigmo

enigmo
I hear you saying that this game is not new at all but this game deserves a place in any top 10 list. The game has 50 levels of physics-based puzzles (I donno what kind of physics it is!). You must solve them by moving various flowing liquids into containers. There are more puzzles available created by many others and you can also create your own puzzle.

6. Bejeweled 2

bejeweled
This is also a game that you already have but still it reserves a mention. Like tetris for video games, this game is very common to all mobile owners with its simple gameplay of “match three gems” that has addicted tens of millions of gamers by virtue of its gentle learning curve and subtle complexity. The Bejeweled 2 for the iPhone, perfectly re-creates the series’ trademark gameplay with touchscreen controls.

7. Wurdle

wurdle
This game is one of many Boggle clones in the App Store and Wurdle’s gameplay resembles the same word-creation game. Join up contiguous letters from the randomly generated 5×5 grid to make as many words as you can in 12 minutes. The word lists are far more complete than WordWrap’s, so it’ll recognize just about anything.

8. Super Monkey Ball

super-monkey-ball
In this game you have to guide a cute little monkey encased in a transparent ball to victory by tilting and rolling him through a variety of slopes and turns by using the accelerometer within your iPhone. You must navigate a large variety of obstacle courses to reach goal lines within set time limits. There are 5 worlds and 110 stages to let you face new and newer challenges.

9. Frenzic

frenzic
The gameplay of Frenzic simple. You have to place the pie pieces that appear in the center circle into one of the 6 blank pie holders. The pieces must be placed in the orientation they appear. You get points for making a total pie. Extra points for making entire pie wheels of the same color. The game is very fast paced, well-designed but I could hardly manage a score of 1000 and I saw someone’s high score at 8564!  I donno how…

10. Cube Runner

cuberunner
This game is simple. Pilot your ship by tilting the iPhone left and right. Don’t hit any of the cubes. For each second you stay alive, you get points; crash and it’s game over. No checkpoints, no goal other than a high score. Simple and boring for the hardcore gamers but could be attractive to one who is trying to learn the tilting tricks with his/her new iPhone.
