Top 5 Reasons Why Samsung LCD TVs are the Best in India
By soumitra, Gaea News NetworkMonday, March 9, 2009

With a global trend of dumping the CRT TVs, India is of no exception to the trend with the market of LCD TVs growing nearly at a rate of 100% per year. According to Display Search analysis the LCD TV market of India will surpass the CRT TV market by 2012. This growth is mainly driven by the introduction of digital broadcast like DTH, IPTV, STB cable etc. There are some major brands in Indian Market like Samsung, Sony, LG and Philips and some local Indian Brands like Videocon and Onida. The leader in LCD TV market in India is Samsung with 30% market share. The main competitor is Sony with 19% market share, followed by LG with 16%. Why Samsung has been able to get the top position in the Indian LCD TV market? Let us find the answer.

1. Quality of Display
ARTICLE CONTINUED BELOWWhen it comes to the domain of displays, Samsung has always pleased its viewers. May it be the LCD TVs or the LCD Monitors and even the display of their mobile phones has been second to none. Even I am writing this blog viewing in my Samsung SyncMaster LCD Monitor. If you ask me about the display clarity, sharpness, richness of color, I will answer that it is simply the best with my Samsung monitor.>
2. Reasonable Price
The price tag of the Samsung LCD TVs were always reasonable. Sometimes, the prices are very much inexpensive indeed. Its true competitor is Sony LCD TVs whose price comes nowhere near the competing pricing of Samsung. The Samsung LCD range is available in the screen sizes between 19″ to 52″, priced between Rs 18,000/- to Rs 2,90,000/-.
3. Features
Samsung can provide a high resolution and good contrast ratio of 10000:1 at a reasonable price. The image rendering engine found in the Samsung LCD TVs is Samsung’s Digital Natual Image Engine. The DNIe eliminates noise while boosting contrasts and sharpening edges on fast moving edges. The audio quality is always good. There are a few models of LCD TV which comes with FM radios with 5 band graphic equalizer.
Again in Samsung 4 Series, the special blue screen mode to watch TV at night to soothe the eyes is really really good.
4. The competitors
The main competitor to Samsung’s LCD display quality is Sony which is way behind the competition with their price tags stuck high up. Samsung being the largest manufacturer of TFT LCDs in the world can provide that quality and that in affordable price tags also. So why go for Sony if you can get the quality at a much lower price. The other competitors in he market are way behind Samsung’s high class display.
5. Customer Support
The customer satisfaction team are always on their feet to solve your problem. But hope you won’t need them!

Conclusion
The total TV market of India is 1.3 crore (13 million) in 2008 of which CRT TVs were 93% and LCD TVs were 6%. This really reflects the fact that the viewer’s aren’t totally ready for the HD Experience. Only some people with good purchasing powers are buying the LCD TVs. It is just a matter of time that LCD TVs will be more affordable than the CRT TVs. And Samsung is the company that can turn this into reality.

Hi, If anyone looking for the quality, then either go for Sony(Bravia) or Sharp(Aquos/quattron.), I have experience all the LCD TVs in Indian market and I know ultimately only electronics only changes in many as the panels are only manufactured by 5 or 6 companies in the world.. out of that Sharp is the best and SONY uses the Sharp one. I haven’t find any model failure bcoz of panel problems in these models… |

Samsung sucks. I bought a TV in may and the LCD panel developed a black line in july. i registered a complaint 20 days ago and i am still awaiting help. The TV has a color washout problem when viewed from the side. I checked out panasonic and it does not have viewing problems even from the sides. panasonic is also providing a 3 year warranty now which no other company is. i agree this article reeks of payment and totallaly biased, |

Hello All, I had a Samsung LCD TV for the past 14 months (Series 4). The panal got spoiled soon after the warrenty period got over (after 13 months) and now the tv is completely dead. I was informed by the service technician (Samsung) that I need to change the panel and it would cost me 13000!!! and there is no warrenty for it. I prefer to add another couple of thousand and get a new TV. FINALLY, I WOULD NOT ADVICE ANYONE TO GO FOR SAMSUNG!! Samsung products does not have any quality!! Samsung Team - If you guys read this its time for some major improvement in your product quality. |

Samsung is a worst LCD TV Product. I have one having Panel issue & Samsung told me to replace the Panel (LCD Screen) which will cost me 22000 Rs with One month Warranty, no other option what so ever. I bought that LCD TV in April 2007. I was told by the Samsung that the life of the LCD panel is 60000 hrs… |
