April Auto Sales: Toyota

TORRANCE, Calif. — Toyota’s U.S. division said Monday that its sales rose 24 percent in April, spurred by incentives the automaker rolled out in recent months. Toyota began the incentives in March to restore demand for its cars and trucks after huge recalls this year and last fall.

TOP SELLER: The Toyota Corolla. Toyota sold 27,932 in April, a 50.7 percent improvement over last year.

HOT MODEL: The Toyota 4Runner. April’s sales total of 4,200 was a 204 percent improvement over April 2009.
