BENGALURU, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — With its CDMA service, having gotten immense popularity, Virgin mobile is all set to launch its GSM service in the southern fringes of India. MA Madhusudhan, CEO Virgin Mobile India, has announced that the service will be initially available in Andra Pradesh , Kerala , Karnataka , Chennai  and Tamil Nadu.

Virgin mobile, aiming to be one of the leading youth mobile services brands, is coming with different tariff plans.

The Virgin subscribers in all the southern circles will be able to make STD and local calls at 20 paise per minute to all Virgin Mobile numbers without any pack. Cross network calls from Virgin will be charged at 40 paise and 50 paise per minute for local and STD calls respectively.

Like its already existing CDMA service, Virgin’s GSM service also will be provided over the network of Tata Teleservices.

Striking Features

The services come with innovative offerings like ‘vMingle’, ‘vGenie’ and ‘vBelong’.

vMingle : It is an integrated social networking service which brings all social networking sites at one place. Users can stay in touch with friends across all social networks with a one time single log-in.

vGenie : It provides features like birthday reminder, wake-up calls and social networking updates.

vBelong : This enables user to create and design their own WAP sites for their group, college etc.

Virgin mobile has signed up Genelia D’Souza and Ranbir Kapoor as Brand Ambassadors. You can get Lifetime Validity with just Rs. 49 while STD will be Pre-activated in the SIM cards.
