World’s Oldest Camera now on Display at Macau

worlds-first-ever-cameraAn elaborate exhibition is going on to showcase old photos and cameras at Macao Museum. The center of attraction is the world’s first camera looking like a sliding wooden box. The exhibition will last till August 23 showcasing 250 antiques of photography and 180 photos of those era.

Entitled “The Invention of Photography and the Earliest Photographs of Macao, China”, the exhibition is organized by the Macao Museum and the Nicephore Niepce Museum in France. Other than the oldest camera on this earth there are over 20 cameras of early times which are borrowed from Nicephore Niepce Museum. Among the 180 old photos on show some of Macao’s earliest photos like “A- Ma Temple, Macao” ,”Praia Grande”, and other landscape shootings on daguerreotype, were on display in the exhibition.
